Folbot
Folbot - an American folding kayak manufacturer based here in Charleston - approached us with a problem. Few people anywhere knew about their very cool product or their 75-year old company.
Our work with Folbot is predominantly focused on media relations. We began our media outreach in Folbot’s home city—Charleston. We then cast our net to regional and national outlets, resulting in hits in publications such as: Town & Country, Canoe & Kayak, Sea Kayaker, Popular Mechanics, Draft Magazine and Family Motor Coaching Magazine.
We’ve turned to YouTube and Facebook to reach online audiences, and The Citibot assembly video is a great example of viral video success, with nearly 2,000 views in the first day live. We have also facilitated Folbot’s participation at events such as Southeastern Wildlife Expo and the East Coast Canoe & Kayak Fest.
After less than a year “in the fold,” we’re also hearing something truly new when we mention Folbot: “Oh, the folding kayak company in North Charleston. I want one.”
